U.S. Fire Alarm Manufacturer and Platform Directory

U.S.-market commercial fire alarm reference. Compare manufacturers and brands serving small businesses, growing organizations, enterprise campuses and industrial sites. U.S.-market availability does not mean U.S. manufacture. This broad directory is not an exhaustive registry of every private-label, legacy or specialty supplier. Links lead to manufacturer product and technical information.

Proprietary versus non-proprietary: ask what is actually open

Non-proprietary/open distribution generally describes purchasing or service choice; it does not promise interchangeable detectors, unrestricted software or universal compatibility. Proprietary/dealer-controlled platforms may restrict tools, training, parts or configuration access while still offering several qualified providers. Open protocol is a separate device-communications claim. None of these labels alone establishes suitability or compliance.

Evaluate each proposed model and contract. The entries identify relevant access questions rather than assigning an unsupported all-or-nothing label to an entire manufacturer.

Fire alarm and specialty control platforms

Fire-Lite / Honeywell

ES-series; small and medium buildings. Manufacturer describes its offering as non-proprietary. Confirm compatible devices and access to the exact model’s tools.

Silent Knight / Honeywell

6000 Ultra Series; small and medium buildings. Addressable commercial platform. Ask which local providers can program and maintain the proposed model.

Farenhyt / Honeywell

IFP-75, IFP-300, IFP-2100; increasing building scale. Expandable IFP family. Confirm current distribution, training and configuration access; do not assume Silent Knight interchangeability.

NOTIFIER / Honeywell

INSPIRE, connected detection and CLSS; complex facilities. Engineered ecosystem. Ask for authorized service alternatives, database handover and recurring connected-service costs.

Gamewell-FCI / Honeywell

E3-family fire and emergency communications. Engineered project platform. Verify model lifecycle, programming eligibility and local service coverage.

Honeywell Building Solutions

XLS4000; integrated building projects. Distinguish the building-solutions service channel from other Honeywell brands; establish change and takeover rights.

Simplex / Johnson Controls

ES control-unit family and network management; buildings and campuses. Manufacturer ecosystem with specialized tools. Obtain written service options, software access terms and upgrade responsibilities.

Autocall / Johnson Controls

4007ES, 4010ES, 4100ES; scalable building systems. Separate branded ecosystem. Verify authorized local providers; shared ownership does not establish cross-brand compatibility.

Edwards

EST4; networked life safety, mass notification and integration. Strategic-partner ecosystem. Confirm alternate qualified providers and access to site-specific programming records.

Kidde Engineered Systems / Vigilant

VM Series; commercial building life safety. Verify exact platform, authorized service access and current migration path; distinguish from standalone household alarms.

Siemens

Cerberus PRO UL / Modular; building and campus protection. Partner-served engineered ecosystem. For existing Desigo systems, confirm the applicable Siemens service channel and migration options.

Potter Electric

AFC, IPA and PotterNet; building systems and network supervision. Channel varies by family: IPA uses an engineered-systems distributor program. Do not classify every Potter panel as unrestricted.

Hochiki America

FireNET L@titude; scalable addressable platform. FireNET has an engineered-systems distributor program. Obtain training, configuration and alternative-service terms.

Kentec

Elite RS and Taktis UL; UL-market control platforms. Elite RS is described as open protocol. Confirm U.S. availability, listed device combinations and tool access.

Mircom

FX-400/401 and FleX-Net FX-4000N; small buildings through networks. Configuration and training depend on platform. Check the U.S. FX-2000N end-of-life notice before specifying legacy equipment.

Secutron

MR-400 and MR-3500 families; commercial and releasing applications. Secutron-specific compatibility requirements. Confirm service access and the exact panel’s releasing approval.

Advanced

Axis AX; UL-market panels, audio and command centers. Networked fire/voice platform. Require a qualified U.S. support channel and documented configuration access.

Maple Armor

Series 2; addressable fire alarm equipment. Canadian manufacturer serving U.S. and Canadian channels. Confirm local dealer depth, exact listings and replacement availability.

DMP

XF6-100/500; single-site commercial fire, including wireless options. Dealer Admin and proprietary wireless ecosystem. Clarify account transfer, device compatibility and service-provider changes.

NAPCO

FireLink, Firewolf and StarLink Fire; commercial fire and communications. Distributor-based products with platform-specific programming and communicator accounts. Separate equipment ownership from recurring monitoring charges.

Resideo

VISTA-128FBPT; light-commercial combination fire/security. Confirm the exact listed commercial-fire configuration; ordinary residential security equipment is not an equivalent substitute.

Fike

Cheetah Xi and documented CyberCat ecosystem; specialty applications. Specialist detection/releasing coordination. Confirm current offerings, lifecycle and compatible suppression equipment with Fike.

Kidde Fire Systems / Fenwal

ARIES NETLink and FenwalNET 8000-ML; engineered protection. Specialist control and releasing ecosystems. Confirm current supply, trained service and the exact approved configuration.

Det-Tronics

Eagle Quantum Premier; industrial fire and gas safety. Process/special-hazard system. Require specialist engineering; it is not automatically a substitute for building occupant notification.

Detection, notification, power and communications

These products complement a designed system; they are not all complete fire alarm platforms.

  • System Sensor: Detection, duct sensing and L-Series notification; check panel compatibility and synchronization.
  • Apollo: UL detector families including Discovery UL and XP95A; open protocol still requires listed combinations.
  • Eaton / Wheelock: Notification appliances and controllers; confirm synchronization, circuit loading and listing.
  • Gentex: Commander notification families; select the correct application, power and synchronization.
  • Xtralis: VESDA, ICAM and OSID; aspirating and open-area detection for challenging environments.
  • Protectowire: Linear heat detection; useful to evaluate for industrial and difficult-access hazards.
  • Altronix: Fire-system power products; verify the specific supply’s listing and compatible application.
  • AES: IntelliNet radio-mesh communications; provider network coverage and account control matter.
  • Telguard: TG-series commercial-fire communicators; verify exact model, coverage, supervision and transfer terms.

Match the platform to the property and ownership plan

Shops, offices and restaurants: compare necessary functions, sprinkler monitoring, local support and total ongoing cost. Schools, hotels, healthcare and housing: establish occupancy-specific detection, notification, accessibility and staffing needs. Enterprise campuses: evaluate network resilience, voice, operator permissions and phased migration. Industrial sites: distinguish building fire alarm from process fire/gas and suppression controls.

  1. Request the exact panel, firmware, device list and applicable U.S. listings.
  2. Identify at least two eligible service providers where available.
  3. Specify who receives configuration backups, drawings, passwords and licenses, subject to lawful access and manufacturer requirements.
  4. Separate installation, monitoring, software subscriptions, inspection and replacement costs.
  5. Document provider-transfer conditions, parts support and the end-of-life plan.
